presentation-wise i land femme-ish most days. still get waiters handing the check to me like i'm the husband. or people assuming i'm the "guy" in the relationship because i'm taller.
it's small. it adds up. how do you handle the constant miscategorizing without becoming the angry one at brunch.

i correct once, lightly, then decide if the place is worth my energy. some days i've got it. some days i just want eggs.

the check thing is so specific and so annoying. i started saying "we're both paying" before they even bring it. preemptive.

you're allowed to be annoyed. that doesn't make you "the angry one." the miscategorizing is the problem.
