The Sapphic Sanctuary

How we run this place

The Sapphic Sanctuary is stewarded by a small anonymous team. Here is how moderation works, what we prioritize, and how to reach us.

Who runs it

A small team of sapphic and queer adults keeps the lights on: accounts, moderation, and the shape of the forum. We stay anonymous on purpose. Outing staff does not make the space safer, and many of us prefer not to attach our legal names to a public LGBTQ+ project.

Anonymity is not a dodge. It is a boundary. You can still hold us to the rules on this page, and you can reach us through Contact.

What we are trying to protect

The forum exists for conversation, creative work, and ordinary community life. We remove harassment, bigotry, scams, and exploitation before they take over the room. The full house rules live in our Community Guidelines.

The Sapphic Sanctuary is a peer community, not a clinic, crisis line, or law firm. When someone needs more than a forum reply, we point to the care resources in the footer and to local emergency services.

How moderation works

Moderators can edit, move, lock, or remove posts. They can warn, suspend, or ban accounts. Serious harm can mean an immediate ban. Smaller breaches that keep happening can end the same way.

  • Safety reports and imminent harm come first
  • Hate, outing, doxxing, threats, and exploitation are treated as urgent
  • Ordinary disputes and category cleanup come after the urgent queue
  • We do not litigate someone's right to exist in a public thread

How to report

Use the Report button on the thread or reply. Pick the closest reason and add a short explanation of what a moderator should look at. Reports go straight to staff and are not shown to the person you reported.

For a profile, a pattern across several threads, or anything that does not sit on one post, use the Contact page instead. Include a link, the username involved, and a short explanation. A screenshot helps if the content may disappear. Please do not start a public pile-on while staff review it.

Appeals

If you disagree with a moderation action, write through Contact and keep it calm. Say what happened, what you think we got wrong, and what you want us to reconsider. Harassing moderators in public threads will not help your case.

We will not always reverse a decision. We will read a good-faith appeal.

Privacy and accounts

Sign-in is handled by Clerk. What we collect and how long we keep it is covered in the Privacy Policy. By using the site you also agree to the Terms of Use.
