somebody in a discord typed "masc" and i spent a full minute thinking their keyboard ate the letter k. mask. masc. then a dating app bio said masc4masc and i closed the app like it had personally insulted me.

masc meaning in chat

is masc just short for masculine, like a vibe, or are people announcing a whole identity in one syllable. i don't want to reply "cool mask" in a queer chat. i have done worse. i can still do worse.

masc4masc, while we're here

that one i can almost parse and i still want a human to say it in a sentence.

    masc in chat is almost always masculine. clothes, hair, the way they carry a date. not a vow. masc4masc means they want to date other masc people.

    in my group chat it means she showed up in the carhartt again. that's the whole usage.

    i put masc in my bio so people don't expect nails and a dress. if they need a speech they can ask. most don't.

    masc and butch get used like twins in apps. they're not. butch is a specific word people claim. masc is the shorter, looser one.
