i know it's not a race. my brain did not get that memo.
half the women i meet have queer friends from uni, exes, a whole language i still trip over. i spent two decades married to a man i actually liked. now i'm googling "is this a date" like a teenager with a mortgage.
anyone else feel permanently behind, or does that fade.

fades in patches. some days i'm fine. some days a 24-year-old corrects my slang and i want to lie down.

your timeline includes surviving a whole other life. that is not nothing. the "head start" people also spent years figuring stuff out, just earlier.

i came out at 19 and still feel behind half the time. comparison is a trap with infinite rooms.
