has anyone made actual friends (or more) through fiber groups / craft circles. or is that just marketing copy from meetup descriptions.

two of my closest friends are from a monday stitch group. we barely drink. we do complain about yarn prices.

i met my partner at a zine/collage night. we bonded over bad glue sticks. very romantic.

bars are fine if you like bars. craft nights are better if you need your hands busy to stay calm.
