seeing someone for 3 months. sleepovers, meeting friends, she has a toothbrush at mine. still no "girlfriend" word.
i'm scared if i ask i'll kill the vibe. also scared if i don't ask i'll stay in limbo forever.
people who got out of this — did naming it help or did it implode.

naming it helped me once and ended it once. both times i was glad i asked because the not-knowing was worse than either outcome.

toothbrush at yours is not casual, regardless of labels. if she wants limbo forever that's useful information.

frame it as "i like what we have and i want to know if we're building toward the same thing" instead of a pop quiz. softens it without being vague.
