facebook groups and forums got me through the "am i actually gay or just bored" spiral. genuinely.
now i want someone to get coffee with who already knows the divorce-to-pride pipeline. my city has a pride center but the calendar looks like it's for people who already have friends.
how did you go from scrolling to showing up without having a panic attack in the parking lot.

i started with events that had a clear end time. book club, one hike, done. open-ended mixer nights wrecked me.

message one organiser beforehand. "first time, a bit nervous" — most of them remember being that person.

end time tip is smart. i always thought i had to stay until closing.

bring a friend who isn't queer if that helps get you through the door. then go alone next time.
